JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is targeting the construction of the Gadjah Mada University Innovation and Creativity Center (GIK) building, in Sleman Regency, to be completed in February 2024.

"The UGM Innovation and Creativity Center Building has begun to be built according to the contract on June 21, 2022, with a completion time of 600 calendar days. As of May 28, 2023, the construction progress has reached 39.74 percent, with a target of completion according to the February 2024 contract," said Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Ministry of PUPR Zainal Fatah in a written statement, Tuesday, May 30.

Zainal advised the Regional Settlement Infrastructure Agency (BPPW) DI Yogyakarta, the Directorate General of Human Settlements and PT Waskita Karya-PT Amarta Karya (KSO) as the implementing contractor, to pay attention to the details of construction work so that it becomes more attractive, beautiful, and comfortable for students.

"Please pay attention to the fragility, the building structure is good and don't forget to reforestation," he said.

The construction of the GIK UGM building is a new construction work which includes structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, landscape, and signage work with an APBN budget of IDR 557 billion.

This student facility is located around the area of the UGM campus on Jalan Pancasila, Caturtunggal, Sleman Regency, DI Yogyakarta.

The GIK UGM building area consists of 8 zones designed to support student development, such as talent development, personalized learning, longlife learning, interdisciplinary competence and standard application, future leadership, as well as innovation in humanity and nation contribution.

Zone A has a total land area of 4,514 m2 with a 3-story building consisting of a commercial building, library lobby, toilet), 2nd floor (libbrary, lobby library), 3rd floor (roof garden).

Zone B covering an area of 12,736 m2 consists of floor 1 (parking 76 cars and 144 motorbikes, retail, toilets), mazzanie floor (parking 60 motorbikes), 2nd floor (sport hall, gym, toilet), 3rd floor (roof garden).

Zone C covering an area of 13,470 m2 consists of 1st floor (student center, class room, galery, toilet), 2nd floor (administrative room, class room, galery, toilet), 3rd floor (roof garden, mechanical electrical room, multifunction). Zone D covering an area of 27,253 m2 consists of a basement floor parking lot with a capacity of 108 cars and 333 motorbikes, 1st floor (co-learning, retail, galery, toilet), 2nd floor (perfunction, office, toilet), 3rd floor (proof garden, MEP room, multipurpose building).

Meanwhile, Zone E covering an area of 2,792 m2 consists of a 1st floor (retail, office lobby), 2nd floor (office and corridor), 3rd floor roof garden. The 19,232 m2 F zone consists of 1st floor (office and toilet), 2nd floor (amphitheater, plaza, office, stage, ticketing), 3rd floor (office, auditorium, toilet, and control room), 4th floor (proof garden).

Meanwhile, the BNI zone covering an area of 1,865 m2 consists of 1st floor (lobby, commercial, power house, rent office, kitchen, toilet), 2nd floor (perfunction, office, toilet), 3rd floor (lobby, data center, meeting room, performance room, command center, toilet), 4th floor (ADI office, work room, toilet), and roof garden on the roof floor. The Joglo zone is 1,366 m2 with a pavilion building facility.

The construction of the GIK UGM building can be used as a means of strengthening Human Resources (HR) through the provision of educational infrastructure and places for meeting students from various faculties at UGM.
