Growing 14.28 Percent, Total Customer Savings At BSI Reaches IDR 115.1 Trillion

JAKARTA - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) in the first quarter of 2023 recorded the success of collecting customer savings of up to Rp115 trillion. This number was recorded to have increased by 14.28 percent from the previous period which was recorded at Rp100.73 trillion.

"And currently BSI is the number 5 largest bank in terms of savings in Indonesia," said BSI Finance and Strategy Director Ade Cahyo Nugroho in a virtual presentation of the Performance of the First Quarter of 2023, Thursday, April 27.

He continued, BSI was able to optimize the collection of third party funds (DPK) with an achievement of IDR 269.26 trillion or grew 12.88 percent year on year. This figure is dominated by Wadiah's savings which reached IDR 43.53 trillion.

"As of March 2023, BSI's typical product, namely Wadiah's savings, can grow 19.73 percent and become the main engine for the BSI DPK," continued Cahyo.

This achievement has a positive impact on BSI's Cost of Fund (CoF) ratio to 1.97 percent because of the Wadiah savings which have an impact on the efficiency of reducing the cost of profit sharing. Until March 2023, BSI recorded that the number of BSI customer-based reached 18.4 million customers.

"This means that BSI is trusted as a bank that is able to provide good benefits for its customers and stakeholders at large," added Cahyo.

In addition to successfully optimizing the collection of low-cost funds through Wadiah savings, BSI also recorded an increase in fee-based income driven from various channels, namely BSI Mobile, Cash Management and digital transactions. Throughout the first three months of this year, the fee-based income BSI Mobile reached IDR 64 billion or grew 5 percent yoy.

BSI digital services are packaged into BSI Mobile which is designed as one stop solution as a financial friend, social friend and spiritual friend. This method has proven to be effective where currently the number of BSI Mobile users has reached 5.18 million users, an increase of 37 percent yoy. This number continues to increase along with the prevalence of people with a sharia lifestyle.
