Fake Stamps Are Circulating, People Are Advised To Buy At Post Office And Pospay

JAKARTA - PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) urges the public to buy stamps at the Post Office or through the Pospay application. This is to avoid fake stamp products.

The reason is, for some time, fake stamps have been circulating in the community. In fact, these fake stamps are sold in marketplaces.

PT Pos Indonesia's VP Financial Service Product Management, Yudha Pribadhi, said that the basic price for a printed stamp and e-stamp is IDR 10,000. However, he added, printed stamps, for example, are sold at a price far below the basic price for printed stamps, i.e. some people sell it for IDR 6,000 or IDR 8,000 per piece.

"This circulation is at an alarming stage because it could have implications for the legitimacy of stamped documents," he said, quoting Antara, Friday, March 3.

Therefore PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) as the official distributor appointed by the government, urges the public to buy stamps at the Post Office or through the Pospay application to prevent buying fake stamps.

PT Pos Indonesia, continued Yudha, is already known as an institution that sells stamps that are guaranteed to be authentic. Currently also selling e-stamp to make it easy for the public to obtain e-stamp from government companies that are very clear and trusted.

PT Pos Indonesia's Consignment and Philately Manager, Ria Marantika, emphasized that her party is not authorized to determine genuine or fake stamps, because the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance has the authority, however, to find out the difference between genuine and fake stamps, users can check by looking and touching.

Make sure the stamp has three types of holes in the sheet, namely round, oval, and star. Pay attention to the DGT logo, Garuda Pancasila, and the Ministry of Finance symbol on the seal. Then, if you touch the texture of the seal, it feels rough.

Pos Indonesia received an assignment or mandate from the Ministry of Finance, to distribute and sell stamps through Post Offices throughout the country.

The distribution and sale of stamps are the responsibility and duty of the Financial Services Business Directorate of PT Pos Indonesia (Persero).

Since 2021, IDR 10,000 stamp has been used for official documents and since that year the product has been circulating in post offices, retail stores, and marketplaces.

"The Post Office is the only official distributor of stamps issued by the Directorate General of Taxes. Of course, the implication is that the price for buying a stamp at the Post Office remains at 10,000 rupiah. The Post Office may not sell a postage stamp price above the price that has been approved by the Ministry of Finance," she said.

In addition, PT Pos Indonesia provides e-stamps in order to make it easier for ordinary people who don't understand the use of e-stamps and have difficulty getting e-stamps.
