54 Million People Have Updated Their NIK to NPWP, Director General of Taxes: Those Who Haven’t, Please Update

JAKARTA – The Director General (Dirjen) of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance Suryo Utomo said that until now the number of identity identification numbers (NIK) that have been integrated as data on taxpayer identification numbers (NPWP) is as many as 54 million.

"This is one of the efforts we are making to continue to maximize the tax administration system," he said via virtual channel on Wednesday, February 22.

According to Suryo, the ranks of the Directorate General of Taxes continue to encourage the public to update data so that it complies with applicable regulations.

"We ask taxpayers to update data online. We also matched with Dukcapil so that as many as 54 million data were truly matched," he said.

Suryo advised the whole community to support the national taxation program so that the development process could run as expected.

"Taxpayers should update their data so that in the future administration they don't need to remember their NPWP, just need their NIK," he said.

For information, SPT reporting for individual taxpayers is up to March 31, 2023. Meanwhile, reporting of business entity tax returns is up to April 30, 2023.

Meanwhile, from the realization of tax revenues, IDR 162.2 trillion was collected as of January 2023. This amount grew 48.6 percent yoy from January 2022 which amounted to IDR 109.2 trillion.
