JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) is completing the construction of the Paralympic Training Center in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java.

The Paralympic Training Center is one of the sports facilities and infrastructure built by the Ministry of Public Works as part of the support for the development of athletes with disabilities to be better at the international level. Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti said that currently the progress of the construction of sports facilities and infrastructure has reached 97.6 percent and is targeted to be completed by December 31, 2024.

"Make sure that the construction can be completed according to the target on December 31, 2024," Diana said in her official statement, written Monday, December 23.

Diana requested that acceleration efforts be made, so that this training center can be completed on time while still paying attention to the quality of the work.

"In addition to the building, make sure the access road is also repaired to make it easier for athletes or people who want to come here," he said.

It is known, the Ministry of Public Works allocated a budget of IDR 409.2 billion to build the Paralympic Training Center.

The sports training center with a building area of 34,346 square meters was built on an area of 80,262 square meters. The location is at the foot of Mount Lawu, precisely not far from the Cakra Palawasri Campground area in Delingan Village, Karanganyar.

A number of facilities and infrastructure were built, including the aquatic arena (swimming pool), recovery pool, boccia arena, shooting arena, table tennis arena and table tennis chair, badminton arena, multifunctional GOR, soccer field, 400-meter athletic track, 100-meter running track, long jump track, high jump and shot repulsion.

In addition, proper housing is also provided for athletes in the form of two flat towers as high as 5 floors with a capacity of 188 rooms.
