Ministry of Finance Regarding Sri Mulyani Entering Forbes 50: Inspiring the Next Generation

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance released the latest press release regarding the inclusion of the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani who was included as one of the 50 women selected by Forbes 50 Over 50: Asia 2023.

It was stated that the state treasurer was one of Indonesia's important figures who achieved success in their industry at the age of over 50 years.

"This inspires the next generation", said the Ministry of Finance's press release on Wednesday, January 25.

Furthermore, this event is the result of collaboration with Mika Brzezinski and Know Your Value.

"Forbes 50 Over 50: Asia 2023 honors women working across fields ranging from technology, pharmaceuticals, arts, politics, and so on, who prove that success comes from all ages", it said.

On its website, Forbes explains that since being reappointed as Minister of Finance in 2016, Sri Mulyani is known internationally for promoting gender equality and anti-corruption.

During her first term of office (2005-2010), the Minister of Finance helped reduce public debt to 30 percent of GDP and oversee reforms that were able to position Indonesia as one of three emerging economies (developing countries) that grew by more than 4 percent in 2009, a year after the crisis financial.

Forbes also said that from 2010 to 2016, Sri Mulyani also served as managing director and COO at the World Bank. Furthermore, in 2018 he became the Best Minister in the World at the World Government Summit in Dubai.

Then, in 2020 Sri Mulyani was also awarded Finance Minister of The Year for the East Asia Pacific region by Global Markets magazine for her role in formulating policies so that Indonesia can go through a global pandemic well and resiliently.
