PPI's Efforts To Advance Indonesian Food Through Food Stalls

JAKARTA - PT Indonesian Trading Company (PPI) member of ID Food through Food Stalls is continuously committed to increasing the inclusiveness of shop owners or MSMEs by providing easy access in the process of distribution and digital transactions of daily food and non-food products for the needs of quality and affordable people.

Food stalls as a forum for bringing sellers and buyers together, currently there are more than 90 thousand registered stalls as partners throughout Indonesia with stockpoints located in the Jabodetabek, Bandung, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Sukabumi, and Tasikmalaya areas.

Going forward this application will continue to be developed through upgrading application features and functions to facilitate the transaction process and we will also continue to expand to other areas in Indonesia," said Tri Wahyundo Hariyatno, Director PPI operations, in his statement, Wednesday 18 January.

The spread of Food Stall Partners has significantly increased in 21 provinces in Indonesia, starting from Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, Lampung, Gorontalo, Bangka Belitung, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Bali, and East Nusa Tenggara.

In line with Erick Thohir's commitment through the Ministry of SOEs in supporting MSMEs and creating new jobs, the synergy of Warung Pangan and PNM Mekaar is a way of collaboration by inviting PNM customers to join as Warung Pangan partners in efforts to distribute food for BUMN Holding Food/ID FOOD products.

In addition, in 2022 Warung Pangan will also be appointed as one of the Bulk Cooking Oil distribution channels in order to stabilize domestic cooking oil prices. Distribution of Bulk Cooking Oil is carried out through Food Stall partners with HET stipulations determined by the Government.

As a form of support and appreciation for partners, through the Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL), PPI conducted the renovation of Mitra Warung Pangan stalls. The selection of stalls is based on good transaction records to improve quality and increase sales capacity to all customers.

Warung Pangan is a PPI strategic initiative program supported by the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Trade in increasing the inclusiveness of stalls or MSMEs with easy access to distribution and digital transactions through the Food Warung application.

The requirements to become a Food Stall partner are very easy. The owner of the grocery shop only needs to download the Warung Pangan application, then fill in the bio and address of the shop, and attach an identity card. PPI will verify the data and if approved, you can order food directly through the application.

BUMN Minister Erick Thohir assessed that Food Stalls would further strengthen the national food ecosystem and bring BUMN closer to the people.

"Food stalls are a new ecosystem that is in line with what we always emphasize that the Ministry of SOEs strongly encourages these SOEs to be close to the people, and build MSMEs, and create jobs," said Minister Erick.
