SKK Migas Appreciates Production of PGN Saka's Pangkah Working Area Exceeds 2022 State Budget Target

JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) appreciates the production of the Pangkah Working Area (WK), which is operated by Saka Indonesia Pangkah Limited (SIPL), as an affiliate of PT PGN Tbk Subholding Gas Pertamina, which exceeds the 2022 state budget target.

As of December 30, 2022, Pangkah WK's oil lifting reached 7,620 barrels of oil per day (BOPD), or 143 percent of the 2022 State Budget target of 7,000 BOPD.

Meanwhile, gas distribution reached 50.51 million cubic feet per day (MMSCFD), or 120 percent of the target of 33 MMSCFD.

The production and lifting performance of PGN Saka's subsidiary was achieved amidst various challenges throughout 2022, including unfriendly weather conditions.

PGN Saka CEO Avep Disasmita conveyed the amount of support from PGN as the holding company, including in 2023, there will be 500 km2 of 3D seismic to obtain data and improve existing data in the Pangkah Field and its surroundings.

"This activity is a breakthrough that has also been approved by SKK Migas as an acceleration of definite work commitments (KKP)", he said.

Other PGN support is a plan to drill two additional wells in the Sidayu Field, one well in Ujung Pangkah, and one exploration well in the Kepodang Field.

In 2023, according to Avep, PGN Saka will aggressively carry out activities to maintain production and increase production in intensive coordination with SKK Migas.

One of them is to do well deepening to reach a layer with great potential to get enough good reserves, he said.

Director of Operations PGN Saka Khostarosa Andhika Jaya added that his party had collaborated on the procurement and use of rigs with PHE WMO to overcome the scarcity of rigs needed for drilling activities.

In the SIPL year-end lifting event, Eko also emphasized that oil and gas will continue to provide a dominant role in supporting the energy supply in Indonesia.

Not only related to energy, but the role of gas as an industrial raw material will also increasingly play a large role in supporting the growth of the petrochemical, fertilizer, and other industrial sectors in the future.

"We hope that SIPL can continue to increase exploration activities to find new oil and gas reserves, and make efforts to increase production so that it can provide support for efforts to achieve the national oil and gas production target in 2030, namely 1 million BOPD of oil and 12 BSCFD of gas. said Eco.
