JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) announced the winner for two working areas (WK), namely the Central Jabung Working Area and the Whale Working Area.

Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tutuka Ariadji, said the total investment in the exact commitment of the two WKs was US$ 31.2 million and the signature bonus was US$ 350,000.

Tutuka said the Central Jabung oil and gas WK Auction was won by a consortium of PT Cipta Niaga Gemilang and PT Rukun Raharja Tbk, a company owned by Happy Hapsoro who is Puan Maharani's husband. This WK is located between the mainland and off the coast of East Natuna in Riau, Jambi and Riau Islands Provinces, with an area of 8.728.34 km2.

"Central Jabung WK has an investment value of 16 million US dollars or around Rp. 260 billion and a signature bonus of 150,000 or Rp. 2.35 billion," he said at a press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 28.

Meanwhile, the Pope's WK was won by Blue Sky Pope Ltd, with an investment value of a definite commitment of 14.65 million US dollars or equivalent to Rp230 billion and a signature bonus of 200,000 US dollars or Rp3.14 billion.

Tutuka added that the two WKs had a definite commitment for 3 years. "The government hopes that the winner of the Central Jabung WK auction and the Pope's WK can contribute to Indonesia's energy security in the future. We urge the winner of the auction to carry out the definite commitment that has been determined," said Tutuka.

He further said that currently there is still an auction that is still running, namely the Direct Offering Auction, namely Sangkar WK, Mahakam Peri and Bunga and for the Regular Auction, namely WK Bose.

Just so you know, during 2022 five Cooperation Contracts (KKS) have been signed as a result of the auction of the work area, namely the Agung I, Agung II, North Ketapang and Bertak Pijar Puyuh and Bawean Cooperation Contracts. Also, five more KKS are being prepared which are the result of the 2022 Oil and Gas Working Area auction.

"By signing the five cooperation contracts, as well as determining the winners of the work area auction results, it will certainly be a good indicator for the Government that the upstream oil and gas industry still has great opportunities to develop and has a high attractiveness for investors," concluded Tutuka.
