As of November 2022, RMK Energy Transports 6.97 Million Tons of Coal

JAKARTA - PT RMK Energy Tbk until November 2022 managed to transport 6.94 million tons of coal, a significant increase of 27.06 percent from the same period the previous year (YoY).

Finance Director of RMK Energy, Vincent Saputra said, in November 2022, it was recorded that the company transported 754,200 tons of coal, an increase of 52.81 percent YoY, and reached this year's target of 88.78 percent.

In the coal sales segment, the company sold 2.20 million tons of coal until November 2022, a significant increase of 46.51 percent YoY.

RMK Energy until November 2022 managed to sell 310,340 tons of coal, an increase of 22.57 percent YoY and almost reached the target of 97.13 percent.

"Of the total coal sellers, 34 percent comes from PT Truba Bara Banyu Enim's (TBBE) in-house mine", he told the media, Friday, December 23.

Based on the total volume, continued Vincent, coal sales and services contributed 24.04 percent and 75.96 percent respectively until November 2022.

"To anticipate the normalization of coal prices that may occur in the future, RMK Energy continues to increase coal volumes to meet the urgent energy security needs for the next few years", said Vincent.

For this reason, he said, the Company continues to see opportunities for collaboration in the energy sector, one of which is a collaboration with PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA IJ) to work on 2.5 million tons of PTBA coal which can be increased up to 1 million tons annually starting in 2023.

"This collaboration can perfect the synergy of both parties with PT KAI in implementing seamless coal transportation in South Sumatra. With integrated infrastructure and collaboration in the energy sector, RMK Energy can accelerate the achievement of its coal sales and service volume targets of 20 million tonnes/year and 5 million tonnes/year respectively", concluded Vincent.
