About UMP 2023, Minister Of Manpower Ida Fauziyah: Discussion Process Of The Director General Of PHI Jamsos

SEMARANG - Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah said the government is currently still formulating the 2023 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) based on inputs received from various parties.

"The determination of the UMP on November 21, 2023, is now in the process of being discussed by the Director General of PHI Jamsos (Director General of Industrial Relations Development and Employment Social Security)," said Ida, as quoted from Antara, Monday, November 7.

Ida revealed that the inputs to formulate the 2023 UMP were received from the trade unions to employers.

"We have listened to input from all parties, our task now is to formulate these views," she said.

The National Wage Council has reached several agreements regarding the 2023 Minimum Wage, including the determination for the UMP to be made no later than 21 November 2022 and the UMK by 30 November 2022.

The UMP 2023 will also be determined using Government Regulation Number 36 of 2021 concerning Wages, which is a derivative of the Job Creation Law (UU Ciptaker).

Inflation is one of the components in determining the UMP along with various other factors including economic growth.

In this regard, the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo supports the proposed increase in the UMP in 2023, the amount of which is adjusted to the inflation rate in the local province.

According to Ganjar, this is in accordance with the contents of Government Regulation Number 36 of 2021 concerning Wages, in which one of the articles states that the minimum wage consists of the provincial minimum wage and the regency/city minimum wage which with certain conditions is determined based on economic and labor conditions.
