JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) as the coach of the financial profession is again holding the annual agenda of the 2022 Financial Profession Expo (PKE), which will take place from 10-14 October.

This fourth time event aims to bring the financial profession closer to stakeholders and the general public (business actors, users of financial professional services, central/regional government agencies, academics, and students).

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani in her speech said, PKE 2022 reaffirmed various government supports during the COVID-19 pandemic which is now starting to show positive results.

"Maintaining the Indonesian economy is not easy, for that I invite all financial professions to join together in safeguarding the financial sector by being vigilant and professional. We need to be aware of the developments in the world, which will be very volatile or volatile, but that does not mean we are afraid," she said through an online channel on Monday, October 10.

According to the Minister of Finance, various limitations during the pandemic have accelerated the pace of digital economic transformation.

"The pandemic has also taught us to take preventive action against the threat of negative impacts of climate change through strengthening a green or sustainable economy," she said.

Sri Mulyani added that the 2022 PKE is also in line with two priority agendas of the G20 Presidency, namely digital transformation and sustainable energy transition.

"The digital economy is one of the drivers of Indonesia's economic growth, which has grown very rapidly," she stressed.

The state treasurer said that the value of Indonesia's digital economy in 2021 would be the highest in Southeast Asia, amounting to USD 70 billion.

This figure is believed to be able to reach 146 billion US dollars by 2025.

In addition, 40 percent of Southeast Asia's digital economy market share is in Indonesia.

"The development of the digital economy by involving the potential of Indonesia's productive age population is an opportunity and key to accelerating recovery and increasing the resilience of the national economy in a sustainable manner," said Sri Mulyani.
