Ready to Receive G20 Summit Guests, Bali Ngurah Rai Airport VVIP Terminal Revitalization is Almost Complete

JAKARTA - Ngurah Rai Airport VVIP Terminal, Bali is ready to welcome important state guests at the upcoming G20 Summit in November. The revitalization that is being carried out is almost complete or has reached 99 percent.

The Minister of Transportation said that the work on the revitalization of the VVIP terminal at Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali was carried out within 3.5 months. Budi said that this terminal had to be prepared gracefully and neatly.

Furthermore, Budi said this was because the terminal would be a meeting point for state leaders. So that it can give a good impression or impression from the guests of the G20 countries.

"Surprise, within 3.5 months we can complete the revitalization of the VVIP terminal", said the Minister of Transportation when reviewing the progress of the construction of the VVIP Terminal at Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, Friday, October 7.

Budi explained that the terminal design carries the concept of local wisdom, but is also modern. With traditional Balinese architecture, known as Wantilan. This means that the building is usually used as a meeting place for the traditional Balinese people.

"We cooperate with architects and also advice from the Governor of Bali. We see here there is a gebyok (insulation or wooden walls) that represents Bali. With simple coloring, it makes it more elegant. This is our pride", said the Minister of Transportation.

To ensure smooth air transportation connectivity for guests of G20 countries, Budi said, several preparations had been made. One of them is to prepare several airports to become parking lots (round) for the planes of the delegates, not all of which can be parked at Ngurah Rai Airport.

Several airports are prepared for round aircraft, namely in Surabaya, East Java; Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (BTB), Yogyakarta, Central Java; Semarang, Central Java; Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Jakarta, and Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"The preparations made must be thorough. We are not only limited to inviting but we can receive and provide good service", said Budi.

In addition to revitalizing and beautifying the VVIP Terminal, said Budi, there is also a revitalization and improvement of facilities at Ngurah Rai Airport such as the International and Domestic Passenger Terminal, Cargo, and other facilities.

Also attending the review was the Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster, Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation Novie Riyanto, Acting Director General of Civil Aviation Nur Isnin Istiarto, and President Director of Angkasa Pura I, Faik Fahmi.
