JAKARTA - Waskita Toll Road through its Toll Road Business Entity, namely PT Kresna Kusuma Dyandra Marga (KKDM) has started the operation of three new accesses on the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu (Becakayu) toll road.

After the operation of the three new accesses, the volume of traffic on the Becakayu toll road has reportedly increased.

The three new accesses in question are On Ramp Prumpung, On Ramp Casablanca, and Section 1A of the Wiyoto-Wiyono Timur Toll Road Connection. All three began operating last week, September 30, 2022,

The President Director of KKDM, Aris Mujiono, said that the operation of the three new accesses has provided many benefits for road users in shortening travel times, especially for residents living in East Jakarta, Bekasi, and surrounding areas.

"Before the operation of three new accesses on September 30, 2022, the average traffic volume (LHR) of the Becakayu Toll Road from January 2022 to September 2022 was approximately 19,000 vehicles, but in a fairly short period of time after operation, LHR volume on October 3, 2022 yesterday reached approximately 27,000 vehicles, or an increase of almost 42 percent," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, October 5.

In the future, Aris hopes that LHR volume will continue to increase and can provide significant benefits for road users.

"We are grateful for the enthusiasm of road users, and we will continue to maintain our commitment to provide the best service," said Aris.

Meanwhile, the President Director of WTR, Rudi Purnomo added that the Becakayu toll road was one of the toll roads that received the State Equity Participation Fund (PMN) at the end of 2021.

"Through the PMN received, we can accelerate the completion of the construction of existing toll roads to a certain point. We hope that in the future our toll road construction construction can continue to run smoothly, in order to provide integrated toll roads that have high benefits and value, both in the eyes of the community and investors," explained Rudi.

For information, the Becakayu Toll Road has a total length of up to 16.78 Km where currently 11.90 Km has been operating.

The sections 2A and 2A Ujung (Casablanca-Marga Jaya) along 4.88 km have completed the Operational Feasibility and Test Test (ULFULO) stage in September 2022 and are targeted to operate no later than later by the end of this year.

Along with the operation plan, it is hoped that the Becakayu toll road can be a solution in reducing traffic congestion and cutting travel time from Kampung Melayu to Bekasi.
