JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is committed to completing the Jakarta - Bandung High-Speed Rail Project (KCJB). Especially, through the addition of State Capital Participation (PMN) in 2022 of Rp4.1 trillion which has been approved by Commission VI of the Indonesia House of Representatives (DPR RI).

KAI's VP of Public Relations, Joni Martinus, said PMN's support was very important to complete the KCJB project through PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC).

Currently, the investment progress of the KCJB Project has reached 85 percent. Meanwhile, his physical progress has reached 76 percent. KCJB will operate on a 142.3 km double track that will stop at 4 stations, namely Halim Station (Jakarta), Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar (Bandung).

KAI through KCIC, he said, continues to strive to prepare KCJB as much as possible so that the KCJB dynamic test can be carried out in November 2022 to coincide with the implementation of the G20 Presidency.

"KAI will continue to coordinate with stakeholders for PMN disbursement, as well as manage it in an accountable, transparent, and responsible manner so that it can realize fast train transportation on time", said Joni, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, August 3.

He added that the fast train service is hoped that it can help improve the community's economy, especially at the stopping stations.

“The presence of the Jakarta - Bandung Fast Train will provide options for people to transport quickly and safely. KCJB is also expected to be a momentum so that other modern transportation can be realized in Indonesia", explained Joni.

KCJB will provide alternative transportation for people who want to travel quickly, safely, and comfortably. With KCJB Indonesia became the country with the first fast train service in ASEAN.

He explained that a series of KCJB consists of 8 trains with a capacity of 601 customers with 18 customers for VIP class, 28 for First Class, and 555 for Second Class. The tariffs that will be charged range from IDR 250 thousand to IDR 350 thousand.

"The maximum speed that KCJB can go is 350 km per hour with a travel time of Jakarta - Bandung or vice versa, which is 36 - 45 minutes", he said.

Joni further said that the design of the KCIC400AF type fast train was inspired by a typical Indonesian animal, namely the Komodo dragon, with the dominant colors of red and white. It is hoped that the Indonesian identity will immediately appear when you see the design of the train.

In the interior, such as on the chairs, there is a touch of the typical Cirebon mega cloudy motif because most of the KCJB tracks cross the West Java region.
