Minister Luhut Leaks That President Jokowi Will Go To China At The End Of July, What Do You Want To Discuss?

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Bisar Pandjaitan, leaked the planned visit of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to China.

The visit was scheduled to be held at the end of July.

Jokowi's visit is related to the extension of the Global Maritime Fulcrum-Belt and Road Initiative (GMF-BRI) cooperation between the two countries.

Luhut conveyed the plan for Jokowi's visit at the second meeting of the High-Level Dialogue and Cooperation Mechanism (HDCM) in Bali.

On this occasion, Luhut was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi.

Meanwhile, the Chinese delegation was led by Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi.

"I and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi conveyed that the GMF-BRI synergy, which is a policy of Indonesia and China, could immediately extend the GMF-BRI MoU agreement. So that President Jokowi can sign it during his visit to China which is planned to be held at the end of July. 2022", he wrote, quoted from his personal official Instagram @luhut.pandjaitan, Monday, July 11.

In addition, Luhut also appreciated the General Administration of Customs China (GACC) which has helped facilitate the fishing industry and Indonesian domestic products to move back after the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I believe this assistance will further strengthen the trade cooperation between Indonesia and China every year", he said.

Furthermore, Luhut admitted that before leaving the event location, he expressed his hope to Minister Wang Yi that the discussion could be an important milestone for bilateral relations, solving strategic issues for Indonesia and China in the area of political, security, and economic cooperation.

"I don't forget to remind him not to forget the next agenda that is no less important, namely enjoying the natural beauty, cultural richness, and culinary delights on the Island of the Gods", he explained.
