JAKARTA - The budget allocation for the Holiday Allowance (THR) provided by the government for State Civil Apparatus (ASN), National Armed Forces (TNI), and National Police (Polri) continues to increase for three consecutive years amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020, during the first year of the pandemic, the total for 2020 THR budget was IDR 29.36 trillion, which consisted of central ASN, TNI, Polri IDR 6.7 trillion, pensioners IDR 8.70 trillion, and regional ASN IDR 13.89 trillion.

To note, at that time the government set a policy not to accompany performance allowances (tukin) as a part of calculating THR.

Then in 2021, the THR value for state servants is stated at Rp30.8 trillion, with details for central civil servants, the TNI, and the police at IDR 7 trillion, regional civil servants, and first aid workers at IDR 14.8 trillion, and for retirees, IDR 9 trillion. Last year, the government did not include the calculation of Tukin in last year's THR.

Meanwhile, for the 2022 Holiday Allowance, the budget value that has been prepared has reached IDR 34.3 trillion. This figure is distributed to the central ASN, TNI, and Polri in the amount of IDR 10.3 trillion, to the regional ASN of IDR 15 trillion, and to pensioners of IDR 9 trillion.

Meanwhile, one thing that is special in this year's THR is that the government has stated that it will include a calculation of the performance allowance of 50 percent. Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani explained that this policy could be a support for the community as well as complement the national economic stimulation strategy.

"The policy of granting THR 2022 is expected to continue to provide factors that are more conducive for the community to carry out activities and carry out activities as well as to continue to help Indonesia's economic recovery," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani as quoted on Sunday, April 17.
