Make Improvements, Erick Thohir Doesn't Want PLN Pension Funds To Have The Same Fate As Jiwasraya

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said his party would tidy up or revamp the PLN pension fund. This step was taken to guarantee the rights of PLN retirees.

Erick admitted that he did not want the PLN pension fund to be corrupted. To avoid such corrupt acts, it is important to revamp the pension fund.

"We also want to improve the PLN pension fund, so that it doesn't continue to be corrupted. We don't always work here, so we want to tidy up the pension fund," he said during the 'Minister of SOEs greets SP PLN and Millennials', Thursday, April 7.

Erick also admitted that he didn't want the fate of PLN's pension funds to be like the insurance for BUMN Jiwasraya and Asabri. Where the collected funds are misused.

"Don't let PLN pension funds like Jiwasraya and Asabri not be responsible for the welfare of retirees who have served for decades," he said.

In addition, Erick Thohir also advised SOE retirees to have the desire to become entrepreneurs. According to him, state-owned companies' corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs are used to assist MSMEs.

That way, said Erick, if PLN retirees want to become entrepreneurs, they can be accompanied.

"We also hope that with the SOE's CSR system, which supports MSMEs, pensioners (PLN) will also be able to synergize with Himbara Bank in the future to become entrepreneurs," he said.
