Save Up To IDR 85 Million, Tanjung Sekong LPG Terminal Performs Energy Efficiency

JAKARTA - Tanjung Sekong LPG Terminal has successfully carried out an innovation that is proven to be able to reduce electricity consumption.

President Director of PT Peteka Karya Tirta (PKT) Hari Purnomo said this savings was made by modifying the pipeline at the Bog Condensate pump.

"Modifications were made on the BOG pipeline leading to the LPG mix storage tank, so that the process of moving LPG liquid is closer and can be done with one pipe unit," said Hari, Thursday, March 17.

Energy efficiency with the use of one pipe unit is also able to produce savings of 108.000 kWh/year or IDR 85.52 million, according to the calculation of the applicable electricity tariff.

Tanjung Sekong LPG Terminal is managed by PT Peteka Karya Tirta (PKT) which is a subsidiary of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS). This terminal plays a role in distributing LPG gas to customers in the West Java Region (covering the provinces of West Java, DKI Jakarta, and Banten).

Fully operating 24 hours a day, the electricity usage at the Tanjung Sekong LPG terminal is quite large, reaching an average of 57.362 kWh/month.

One of the largest electricity consumptions in the LPG terminal complex is in the operational area of the refrigated LPG plant, where this area has operational facilities such as Bog, seawater pump, and electrical transfer pump which require high electricity.

The Tanjung Sekong LPG Terminal team then implemented an innovation that became a pioneer in changing operational mechanisms, which previously used 2 pumps and produced more power, now they can become one pump.
