Bhayangkara Will Not Lower Witan Sulaeman When Meeting Persija Jakarta

JAKARTA - Bhayangkara FC will certainly not field Witan Sulaeman against Persija Jakarta. The two teams will meet in the 20th week of Liga 1 2023/2024, Monday 27 November 2023, at 19.00 WIB.

Witan is a loan player who has just been brought in by Bhayangkara from Persija. However, in the debut match at his new club, the winger was faced with a schedule that required his former team to fight.

Regarding this matter, Bhayangkara took a middle ground by not playing Witan in the match against the Kemayoran Tigers. In addition to the issue of the loan agreement, there are also other considerations that make Witan have to be sidelined in the match later.

"According to the agreement with Persija, from the start it did not play Witan (Sulaeman)," said COO Bhayangkara Sumardji in a statement to reporters.

"I'll just follow. Because, that's the will of Persija and we just follow it," he added.

Previously, it was known that the issue of Witan's loan from Persija to Bhayangkara had caused a polemic. The reason is, Witan was loaned when he was actually performing well with the Kemayoran Tigers.

In his last two matches with Persija, Witan scored three goals and one assist. His contribution played a major role in the two consecutive victories of the team from the capital city, namely defeating PSM Makassar 3-2 and beating Persikabo 1973 4-0.

However, despite the decision that had raised the question mark, Witan was still released by Persija to defend Bhayangkara on loan at the mid-season transfer market.

In addition to Witan's presence, Bhayangkara made massive changes to the team. The Guardians also brought in eight players, including Arif Satria, I Putu Gede Juni Antara, Zulfahmi Arifin, Marcelo Herrera, Junior Brandao, to their new coach, Mario Gomez.
