Former Ajax And Sevilla Midfielders, Pull Oulida, Sentenced To Sexual Harassment Of Children In Spain

JAKARTA - Former Ajax and Sevilla midfielder, Pull Oulida, has been found guilty of sexually abusing a child by a court in Costa del Sol, Spain. He was sentenced to two years and six months in prison. But will not serve the sentence as part of the plea bargain' agreement, as it was replaced with a ban on entry to Spain for 10 years.

Oulida, 49 years old, is a Dutch citizen and descended from Morocco who was born in Amsterdam. He was also given a distance order not to approach the victim within a 500-meter radius. The Malaga Provincial Court, which sentenced the former footballer, said he had paid 10,000 euros in compensation (Rp170 million) as a factor in the decision not to impose a prison sentence.

The agreement between defense attorney Oulida and state prosecutors, involving the confession of a former footballer to the alleged act, means he cannot appeal his sentence and verdict.

Oulida, who holds Dutch and Moroccan citizenship, started her career at Ajax. She joined Sevilla in the mid-1990s and spent three seasons at the Spanish club, which was relegated from La Liga in the 1996-97 season when she was still in the club before moving to Nagoya Grampus in Japan. She retired from football after returning to her country after a period in France and a second period in Japan.

It is not yet clear when Oulida was first accused of this crime. Investigators are known to have started a criminal investigation in 2017. In Spain, such an investigation, which took place in the early stages behind closed doors and led to allegations and trials if there was evidence that a crime had occurred, could take years to resolve.
