Draw Against Kosovo, Switzerland Qualifies For European Cup

JAKARTA - Switzerland again qualified for the European Cup. Despite playing a 1-1 draw in the Euro 2024 qualifying Group I match at St Stadium. Jakob-Park, Basel, Sunday, November 19 in the morning WIB, Switzerland also got a ticket to Germany.

Switzerland returned to compete in the European Cup for the third time in a row. They made sure to qualify even though they only added one point when they hosted Kosovo.

The result made The A-Team stay in second place in Group I with 17 points. Despite leaving one more game, Switzerland's points were no longer able to be chased by Israel which lost 2-1 to Romania.

From the group, Switzerland and Romania pocketed automatic tickets to Germany.

Romania itself is at the top of the standings with 19 points. The determination of the group winner will be through the Romanian big match against Switzerland, November 22 in the morning WIB.

In that match, Switzerland actually showed dominance. But they struggled to break into Kosovo's goal which was under pressure throughout the first half.

Switzerland finally broke the deadlock in the second half. Ruben Vargas' goal came after his header broke through Kosovo's goal in the 47th minute.

But Switzerland could not maintain its lead. Kosovo managed to equalize the score when Muhamet Hyseni scored in the 82nd minute.

The score changed to 1-1 and lasted until the end of the match. Switzerland also got a ticket to Germany.

Switzerland is actually not a team that is underestimated in the European Cup. In the last edition, they were able to penetrate the quarter-finals.

The squad of Swiss legend Murat Yakin has a row of top players. In the defense is Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji.
