2023 Asian Para Games: Chess Team Wins Seven Gold Medals, Indonesian Contingent Passes South Korea

JAKARTA – The Indonesian contingent was flooded with gold medals from the sport of chess. A total of seven gold medals from the 2023 Asian Para Games were won by this sport.

Seven gold medals from chess were won on Thursday, October 26 2023 afternoon. The gold medal contribution was made by Tirto in the men's Individual Standard PI number, Wijayanti Putri Brahmana Aisah in the women's Individual Standard VI-B2/B3 number, and Yoga Indra in the men's Individual Standard VI-B1 number.

Apart from that, Indonesia also won gold medals in chess for the men's VI-B1 standard team, the men's PI standard team, the women's VI-B2/B3 standard team, and the women's PI standard team.

The additional seven gold medals mean that Indonesia is now in seventh place in the medal standings. In detail, Indonesia has collected 17 gold, 13 silver, and 25 bronze medals.

Currently, Indonesia is temporarily ahead of South Korea, which is in eighth place with 16 gold medals. Behind Korea is Malaysia, which is still holding on with seven gold medals.
