Gresini Racing's Noble Mission In MotoGP 2024: Makes Marc Marquez Smile Again

JAKARTA - Gresini Racing revealed a special mission for their new racer, Marc Marquez, at the 2024 MotoGP. Sporting Director Gresini, Michelle Masini said the team's priority next season is to make Marquez have fun on the motorbike and smile again.

In the last four years Marquez's performance has been arguably less flashy. Apart from being often seriously injured, he also has to accept the fact that Honda's motorcycle performance has not yet been successful.

This situation then prompted the Spaniard to move to Gresini Racing. He was then bound by a one-year contract.

Being able to get a cooperation agreement from Marquez is certainly a historic moment for Gresini. According to Masini, all of this is a positive domino effect after his squad chose to separate themselves from the Aprilia Racing factory team at the end of 2021.

"We welcome a champion like Marc (Marquez) with high respect. This is clearly the result of our choices," said Michelle Masini, quoted from DAZN on Friday, October 20. Masini also did not deny her admiration to find a caliber rider Marquez wants to defend a team like Gresini. Marquez even has a sense of trust in this Faenza team even though they can only provide old motorbikes aka Desmodedici GP23.

Marquez's willingness to join Gresini is certainly highly appreciated. In retaliation, the team wants to make Marquez have fun again on a motorbike, starting from a post-season test in Valencia, Spain on November 28, 2023.

"Our priority with Marc at this time is... we are still discussing whether he can take the Valencia test, but at the first kilometers later, our priority is to give him a smile," he said.

"The rest, we'll see later. On paper, we have everything to achieve extraordinary results," concluded Machini.
