Cristiano Ronaldo Threatened With Scams In Iran Imbas Hugs A Female Artist

JAKARTA Mega star Cristiano Ronaldo faces the threat of caning in Iran as a result of embracing a female artist in the country, some time ago.

The meeting of former Real Madrid star with an Iranian painter named Fatima Hamimi took place when Al-Nassr visited Tehran to play the Asian Champions League group stage match against Persepolis last September.

Fatima had the opportunity to meet Ronaldo and at the same time give a special painting that she made for the owner of the five Ballon d'Or. The painting captured the look on the star's face.

Fatima is a disabled painter who works on her feet. She is a big fan of the Portuguese star.

During the meeting Ronaldo kissed the artist's cheek and gave him a t-shirt that he signed. In addition, Ronaldo was also seen embracing Fatima when the two captured the meeting.

This photo then sparked outrage and protests from lawyers in Iran. Iranian media as quoted by Mundo Deportivo claimed several lawyers in the country had reported Ronaldo.

Even though Ronaldo's goal is to show respect to the painter, the moment is still considered adultery. This refers to the prohibition of local authorities regarding the opposite sex from touching the body.

The justice system in Iran reacted quickly to the couple's photo and sentenced Ronaldo to 100 lashes. Ronaldo will receive the punishment when he returns to Iran.

Al-Nassr competed in the Asian Champions League group stage in Group E with teams from Iran, Persepolis, teams from Qatar, Al-Duhail, and Istiklol from Takikistan.

Ronaldo certainly will not return to Iran in this phase of competition. However, if they make it to the knockout stages, it is possible that CR7 will set foot on Iranian soil again.

The same report states that if they go to Iran, Ronaldo can be arrested by the authorities and forced to serve a sentence.
