Asian Games 2023 Closed Today, Indonesia Is Confirmed To Fail To Meet Medal Targets

JAKARTA - The Indonesian contingent certainly failed to meet the medal target at the 2023 Asian Games, following Asia's largest multi-event agenda which was completed on Sunday, October 8 evening.

The 2023 Asian Games officially opened on September 23, hundreds of Indonesian athletes sent in a number of sports are expected to bring home at least 12 gold medals.

However, until Sunday, October 8 at 12.00 WIB, the target could not be met by the Red and White contingent. The reason is that on the last day of the 2023 Asian Games, no more Indonesian athletes will appear.

With this situation, the Indonesian opportunity to add medals also ran aground. A number of sports that are expected to meet the gold medal target, including badminton, are in fact inversely proportional.

Currently, the Indonesian contingent is still stuck in 13th position and it is impossible to rise again, because there are no more opportunities to add gold. For the medal achievement, the Indonesian contingent received 36 medals, with details of 7 gold, 11 silver, and 18 bronze.

On the other hand, China as the host is confirmed to come out as the overall champion at the 2023 Asian Games because it is almost victorious in all the sports that are followed. Without any significant competition in medals, until Sunday afternoon China triumphed with a score of 383 medals.

An additional gold medal from artistic gymnastics this afternoon made China now collect 201 gold medals, 111 silver medals and 71 bronze medals.

China's closest competitor today is Japan, but the number of medals is very far apart. The country of the Rising Sun collected 186 medals with 51 gold, 66 silver and 69 bronze medals. South Korea, which is in third place, is actually a total of 190 medals but lost in gold medals with details 42 gold, 59 silver and 89 bronze.
