In Order To Respect Saudi Arabia, Henderson Will Not Use Rainbow Captain Tires On Al Ettikaq

Jordan Henderson has confirmed that he will not wear rainbow colored captain tires at his new club, Al Ettikaq. Henderson wants to respect culture and religion in Saudi Arabia.

However, the former Liverpool captain said he would not change regarding his attitude regarding the LGBT community.

"But at the same time, what I will not do is disrespect Saudi Arabia's religion and culture," Jordan Henderson was quoted as saying by Bein Sport, Wednesday, September 6.

"If it (using the rainbow captain's armband) doesn't respect religion, I won't do that. But if there's an opportunity where I can do it but it turns out the situation isn't possible, then I didn't, that's why I value it," Jordan Henderson added.

Henderson realized his decision not to use the rainbow captain's armband in Saudi Arabia would have an impact on the community. He then apologized for all the losses incurred to the community after his move from Liverpool to Al Ettikaq in the Saudi Arabian League.

Henderson's move to Saudi Arabia from Liverpool had drawn criticism by the LGBT community. But in his statement, Jordan insisted he would not change even though he had moved to Saudi Arabia.

"I can understand the frustration. I can understand his anger. I understand," said Henderson.

"My intention has never hurt anyone. My intention has always helped the goal where I felt they had asked for my help," Henderson added.
