Menpora Supports Taekwondo To Solve Internal Problems

JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo supports the Executive Board of Taekwondo Indonesia (PBTI) to immediately resolve their internal problems.

Currently, the situation in PBTI's body is not doing well after the resignation of the General Chairperson of PBTI as well as the candidate for general chairman for the 2023-2027 period Thamrin Marzuki at the end of last month.

"The point is that the government supports all munas processes carried out in accordance with the organization's AD/ART," said Dito in an official statement received.

PBTI is currently in the plan to hold a national meeting (Munas) on September 4-5, 2023 in Sentul, Bogor. However, the agenda for selecting the general chairman of the organization's parent organization went dynamically.

There are two names who have registered as the General Chair of PBTI and have submitted all requirements to the Penjaringan and Screening Team (TPP), last Friday (25/8).

In addition to Thamrin Marzuki's name, the one who also registered to become a candidate for chairman is Lt. Gen. Richard Tampubolon.

Although one of the caketums resigned, the majority of provincial administrators (Pengprov) urged the National Conference to choose the number one person in the Indonesian taekwondo organization to continue to be carried out on schedule.

"The majority of us ask that the National Conference must continue to run according to schedule. In addition, we ask for the appointment of the caretaker of the Head of PBTI to be the authority of the provincial government," said Head of the Maluku IT Provincial Government Hengky Ricardo.
