Advance To The Round Of 16 Of The US Open, Novak Djokovic Comeback Impressive After Being Left Behind By Two Sets

JAKARTA - Novak Djokovic made an amazing comeback at the US Open after overcoming a two-set loss when he beat fellow Serbian player, Laslo Djere, in a dramatic five-set match to advance to the last 16.

As the second seed, Djokovic corrected his initial mistakes at the Arthur Ashe Stadium before beating Djere with a score of 4-6, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 in three hours 45 minutes.

This is Djokovic's eighth win in a situation where he trailed 0-2 in a Grand Slam match.

"I hope the audience enjoys this match. I don't feel the same joy, especially in the early two sets. It's one of the toughest games I've had in the last few years here," Djokovic said after the game, as reported by AFP.

Despite being 36 years old, Djokovic still points out that he is the holder of 23 Grand Slam titles capable of dealing with pressure on the pitch.

Djere, who is the 32nd seed in New York, has never previously reached the third round of any Grand Slam tournament, and he has always been knocked out in the first half in four of his previous US Open participations.

However, Djere was able to surprise Djokovic by appearing alert and confident in the first two sets after winning a break once in each set.

However, the unbeaten Djere service in the first two sets began to show weaknesses. Finally, Djokovic managed to get two breaks in the third set and stole points from Djere service for the fourth time in the fourth set, forcing the match into the determination set.

Djokovic continued to go well and took another break before taking the lead 4-1 quickly and finally secured his serve to end the game with a score of 5-3.

Djere didn't just give up and managed to save a match point, but Djokovic immediately sealed the win at the next match point when Djere's backhand missed.

Djokovic admitted that he was frustrated in the dressing room when he was down by two sets.

"I encourage myself when I look at the mirror. I even laugh at myself because I am very frustrated with my game, trying to liven up my spirits. I have done it several times in my career and have never succeeded, but tonight it was successful and I am very grateful," he said in tears.
