European Super Cup: Beat Sevilla, Manchester City Rengkuh First Title

JAKARTA Manchester City successfully won their first title in the European Super Cup after defeating Sevilla.

Pep Guardiola's team won on penalties 5-4 at Karaiskakis Stadium, Greece, Thursday, August 17 in the morning WIB, after a 1-1 draw for 90 minutes.

Sevilla took the lead thanks to Youssef En-Nesyri's goal in the 25th minute. Cole Palmer then equalized for City with a directed header maximizing Rodri's pass.

This victory also continued City's achievements in winning treble (three titles in a season) last season. The three titles are the FA Cup, English Premier League, and European Champions League.

Meanwhile, bringing City the champion made Guardiola make achievements as the first coach to win this trophy with three different clubs.

Guardiola previously won this trophy twice with Barcelona in 2009 and 2011. He then grabbed it with Bayern Munich in 2013.

In addition, an additional European Super Cup trophy makes Guardiola currently level with Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti. Now these two coaches both have a collection of four trophies from the event.
