JAKARTA – Real Madrid officially signed Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Spanish goalkeeper was brought in from Chelsea on loan.

Madrid through their official website, Monday, August 14, confirmed the agreement. Kepa will strengthen Los Blancos for the next season or until June 30 2024.

"Real Madrid and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the signing of Kepa on loan," Los Blancos wrote on Instagram.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper was brought in following the injury to Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian international goalkeeper has been sidelined from the Madrid squad until the end of the season due to an ACL injury.

Kepa himself is no stranger to the Spanish La Liga. He was previously a former Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper who had played more than 100 matches in Spain's top flight.

In five seasons with Chelsea, Kepa managed to lift a European Champions League trophy, a Club World Cup trophy, a European Super Cup, and a European League trophy.

Last season, Kepa even managed to receive an award for the best save in the 2022/2023 Premier League. In addition, he also won the UEFA Nations League with Spain.
