Severe Traffic Jams At The Peak! 15 Thousand Vehicles Crowded With Tourism Routes On Long Holidays

Congestion every weekend by private vehicles in the Puncak area, Bogor Regency (VOI)

BOGOR Long traffic jams hit the Puncak tourist area, Bogor, on the first day of the long holiday weekend and school holidays, Saturday, December 21 morning. Thousands of vehicles crowded the route to Puncak, even though the one-way system has been implemented.

Deputy Director of Traffic of the West Java Police, AKBP Edwin Afandi, revealed that his party continues to try to unravel congestion with intensive traffic control. "We have been monitoring since morning, there has indeed been a significant increase," said Edwin.

From observations at the Gadog intersection to Puncak, vehicles from Jakarta continued to flow rapidly. As of 08.00 am, there were around 15,000 vehicles heading to Puncak. Edwin said the surge in vehicle flow had occurred since Friday, December 20, with 36,000 vehicles recorded passing. A total of 28,000 of them returned to Jakarta in the evening, while around 6,000 vehicles spent the night in Puncak.

To overcome this spike, a one-way system is implemented. "Currently, a one-way system policy is being implemented for vehicles bound for Puncak," explained Edwin.

In addition, motorists are asked to prepare themselves for the potential for extreme weather, especially users of two-wheeled vehicles. "motor drivers are advised to prepare for a good journey to be safe and smooth," he added.

Police continue to be on standby at points prone to traffic jams, such as the Gadog intersection area, to ensure smooth traffic flow. This anticipatory step is expected to reduce the travel time of tourists and maintain the comfort of traveling in the midst of the high volume of vehicles.
