After Knocking Out Robert Helenius, Anthony Joshua Pede Will Ladeni Deontay Wilder

JAKARTA - The heavyweight former world champion Anthony Joshua (AJ) gave the code Deontay Wilder will be his opponent for the next duel. He believes a potential fight against Wilder will occur soon.

Currently discussions between Joshua and Wilder continue. Saudi Arabia is said to want to host the fight between the two former champions in January or February next year.

"Every moment is the right time to fight. Either Wilder eight years ago or Wilder now. No problem," said Joshua as reported by LiveScore.

Joshua just won last weekend's victory against Finnish boxer Robert Helenius, at the O2 Arena, London. This is Joshua's 26th win in Joshua's professional career.

In addition, this is Joshua's second win after two consecutive defeats against Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022. Before overthrowing Helenius, AJ had already stopped Jermaine Franklin in April.

After those two victories, Joshua was even more enthusiastic about Wilder. Moreover, these two fighters have never met each other in the professional ring.

"That's why you ask about Wilder's fight. I'm not comparing what should happen. I'm just happy that we're going to have this fight soon because I think it's really good for boxing," Joshua said.

Deontay Wilder has not been in the ring for almost a year. He last fought when he beat Robert Helenius in the first round, October 15, 2022.

It was Wilder's only appearance after losing to Tyson Fury twice in 2020 and 2021.
