Xavi Refuses To Discuss Rumors Of Neymar's Return To Barcelona

JAKARTA Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez, refused to speak about rumors of Neymar's return to Camp Nou. The Brazilian will reportedly leave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer.

Neymar has recently become increasingly associated with the French giant exit. He is said to have asked the club's management to release him.

Barcelona, which is a former club, is considered the player's favorite destination. However, Xavi refused to respond to any possibility related to Neymar.

"I can't say anything more about Neymar," Xavi told the media after Barcelona's 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Joan Gamper Trophy, reported 90min.

"Last year I mentioned the name of a player from another team and the club was angry. From here to the end of the stock exchange, we'll see," he added.

The 31-year-old spent four seasons at Camp Nou between 2013 and 2017. He then moved to PSG for a record-breaking fee of 190 million.

Recently, Neymar has been disappointing due to various injury problems. The 31-year-old has never played more than 22 league games in a season of six in Paris.

In addition, he also failed to bring the club to the European Champions League title for the first time. This includes a painful defeat in the 2020 final against Bayern Munich.

Earlier at Barcelona, Neymar enjoyed a much more successful period by winning the European Champions League and two La Liga titles.

Apart from Barcelona, Chelsea are also said to be interested in bringing Neymar to Stamford Bridge. However, the current manager of The Blues, Mauricio Pochettino, is said to have refused a reunion with his former PSG team.
