Cristiano Ronaldo Continues To Have A Positive Impact On Al Nassr: It Feels Extraordinary

JAKARTA - Cristiano Ronaldo helped Al Nassr step into the semifinals of the Arab Club Champions Cup. The Saudi Arabia team defeated Morocco's representative, King Casablanca with a score of 3-1 at Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium, Saudi Arabia on Sunday, August 6.

Cristiano Ronaldo contributed one goal in the match. While the other two goals were scored by Sultan Al-Ghannam and Seko Fofana.

Meanwhile, King Casablanca scored an entertainment goal through Abdullah Madu's suicide.

Success in bringing his team to the semifinals makes Cristiano Ronaldo happy not to be angry. He is also happy to be able to continue scoring goals for Al Nassr.

"To the semifinals. It feels great to keep scoring goals and help the team continue to advance in this competition," he wrote on his Instagram account, @cristiano.

Ronaldo opened the scoring for Al-Nassr when the game was running for 19 minutes. Getting a pass from Anderson Talisca, Ronaldo fired a hard left foot in the penalty box which resulted in a goal. The score became 1-0.

Al-Nassr was able to double the lead ten minutes later thanks to Sultan Al-Ghannam's goal after his shot in the penalty box failed to be stopped by goalkeeper Anas Zniti.

The Saudi Arabian club got further and further in the 38th minute. Starting from Alex Telles' cross from the left, the ball can be headed by Seko Fofana in front of goal. The score becomes 3-0.

But three minutes later, Abdullah Madu made a mistake that made the King able to run behind. He failed to anticipate Mohamed Zrida's pass until his sweep resulted in an own goal.

The 3-1 score for Al Nassr's advantage closed the first half.

After the break, Al-Nassr almost increased their lead in the 61st minute through Talisca's shot from in front of the penalty box. Unfortunately the ball still deviated slightly from Zrida's goal.

Two minutes later, Raja responded through Zakaria El Wardi's efforts. Getting the ball on the left, he immediately fired in the penalty box which Nawaf Alaqidi could catch.

The king almost reduced the position in the 73rd minute. Roger Aholou's individual action outwitted defender Al-Nassr and then continued with a shot that Alaqidi could still parry, the rebound ball was kicked again by Aholou, who was again blocked by goalkeeper Al-Nassr.

Al-Nassr managed to maintain a 3-1 advantage until the game was over. This victory led Al Nassr to the semifinals of the Arab Club Champions Cup.

Al Nassr will meet Iraqi representative Al Shorta in the semifinals on Wednesday, August 9, as quoted by Antara.
