JAKARTA - PSSI General Chairperson (Ketum), Erick Thohir explained that FIFA has written to the Indonesian Football Federation regarding the stadium which will be used for the 2023 U-17 World Cup.

Erick Thohir said, FIFA will make a visit to Indonesia to monitor venue readiness on July 28 - August 2. Prior to the agenda, FIFA recommended Indonesia as the host to clean up.

"Alhamdulillah, on July 20 we have received a letter containing notes from FIFA that must be followed up before FIFA checks the venue from August 28 to August 2, the plan is to open Erick Thohir at a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 25 afternoon WIB.

Regarding the letter given by FIFA, Erick Thohir said that PSSI had also communicated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing regarding the necessary renovations according to FIFA records before checking again.

"The FIFA visit will later check the readiness of the venue, field quality, service readiness such as accommodation and services," explained Erick Thohir.

Furthermore, regarding the venue, PSSI said that the stadium that will be prioritized for careful improvement is the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). For this stadium, the most emphasized is the quality of the grass used.

"Especially for the renovation of new fields that we propose, such as JIS, don't be a polemic again. Here (in the letter) FIFA mentions that hybrid grass, one of which must be repaired because if it won't be a problem and that's why it must be replaced," he explained while showing a letter from FIFA.

"From FIFA the notes are prioritized JIS," he added.

For the 2023 U-17 World Cup, Indonesia has been officially appointed to host the family. With that status, all preparations must be finalized optimally before this big agenda is held on November 10-2 December.
