Strong Warning From Erick Thohir For Field Courts

JAKARTA - PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir made a big decision. Erick said he would directly lead the Referee Committee after the performance and duties of the division have been in the spotlight in recent times.

Erick said that he intervened directly to lead the Referee Committee as an effort to be transparent and infringement. Erick also mentioned the life sentence to criminal penalties for violators.

"So, I lead the Referee Committee myself. If something is strange, right, it can be sentenced to life directly. Because the commitment is like that," said Erick, as quoted by Antara.

"When I met the National Police Chief, there were two processes, right. On the part of the police, it was different. At PSSI, they were sentenced to life for referees, players, administrators and owners (clubs)," he continued.

Erick also said that he directly led the Indonesian football competition leadership division to minimize the intervention of other parties.

Meanwhile, he also stated, PSSI will announce the composition of the board for other committees. "We are talking to each other," he said.

The Referee Committee has an important role in Indonesian football competitions and is tasked with selecting the person who will lead the game.

The Referee Committee is side by side with the Disciplinary Committee. For the Disciplinary Committee, Erick said it would be announced soon.

"The Disciplinary Committee, God willing, can be announced this Thursday or Friday because the selection of figures is not easy. It all needs a process, commitment, continuity, and if the intentions are good, God willing, it will run (good)," said Erick.

When asked about the potential for a total reshuffle for the two committees, Erick said there were some old people to be maintained.

"There are several figures that I think can be maintained, it's just a commitment from the leadership. As the chairman of PSSI itself, if they are solid and have no interest, I will definitely be able to walk," he said.
