JAKARTA - The government, through Menpora Dito Ariotedjo, gave an award to the late David Jacobs, a table tennis athlete who had made Indonesia proud in the international arena. This award was handed over to the family for the late's achievements during his lifetime.

The award in the form of funds amounting to Rp100 million was given by the Minister of Youth and Sports to David Jacobs' wife, Jeanny Inggrid Palar on Monday, July 3 afternoon. The moment of awarding awards directly was held on the sidelines of the 'Meeting the Champions' of the Cambodian 2023 ASEAN Para Games medals at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Office Courtyard, Senayan, Jakarta.

"This is a little from the Ministry of Youth and Sports so that it can be used as well as possible and if the children of the late David Jacobs will take our education from the Ministry of Youth and Sports are ready to help," said the Menpora when handing over the placard with the amount of money given.

Welcoming the appreciation given by the Minister of Youth and Sports to her late husband, Jeanny expressed her deep gratitude. According to Jeanny, this is a sign of gratitude because the government continues to pay attention to the families left behind.

"This is more than enough. Attention remains with the government. Not only from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, but from all of them, many also pay attention to the family of the deceased," said Jeanny.

In addition to cash assistance, said Jeanny, the government also provided educational assistance. The four children of the late David Jacobs received scholarships up to strata 1 (S1) level.

"It helps so much, my husband died until now attention for me and my children," he said.
