Wimbeldon 2023: Tennis Players Who Can Be Blockers Of Novak Djokovic Win The 24th Titel Grand Slam

JAKARTA - The Wimbledon Tournament will be held on 3 July. Serbian tennis player, Novak Djokovic, is certainly the favorite to win.

The 36-year-old has dominated Wimbledon with seven titles in hand, four of which were previously won in a row.

However, Djokovic's attempt to extend his Grand Slam title record to 24 titles will not be easy. He will be confronted by a number of players who shine in recent months.

One of them is Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz who began to make peace with the grass field after conquering hard and clay. Then there is also Daniil Medvedev from Russia.

However, apart from Alcaraz and Medvedev, there are opponents Djokovic should watch out for.

Taylor Fritz (United States)

Experiencing five defeats in the six finals of his first ATP tournament, Fritz made a breakthrough in March 2022 when he won the Indian Wells Masters despite being the 20th seed.

In the tournament in the middle of the desert, Fritz showed signs that American tennis ultimately had a serious men's singles challenger to Grand Slam after the golden ages of Pete Sampras, Andre Agas, and Andy Roddick, the last US player to win major titles in 2003.

Fritz, who was ranked fifth in the world earlier this year, has won his last four ATP finals and confirmed his prowess on the grass after winning the Eastbourne warm-up tournament twice in the last four years.

The number eight has also reached six semifinals this year, although it has not been able to convert it into a fight in the final round.

"I see myself serious in the tournament, consistently playing much better," Fritz was quoted as saying by Reuters via Antara.

Holger Rune (Denmark)

Stealing ahartian at the Paris Master last year, Rune found an uphill performance despite his reputation as a "badung champion" in recent tournaments.

The fiery Danish tennis player rocked the tennis world when he overturned five of the world's top 10 players to win his first Masters title at the age of 19.

Rune has not relaxed his performance until now approaching fifth in the world.

He tends to be unable to contain his anger, and can even hit the audience so frustrated. However, the 20-year-old said he was not afraid to vent his emotions on the field to achieve his main goal of becoming the world's number one tennis player.

"I will not hide it," Rune said at the French Open. "I believe in myself, and also able to beat players like that, not just once but also at the Grand Slam where we all know they want to show their best,"

Karen Khachanov (Russia)

Khachanov had his best performance on the grass court in 2021 when he reached Wimbledon's quarter-finals for the first time and almost qualified for his first semi-final at Grand Slam following a five-set loss with Denis Shapovalov.

The world number 10 strong service was one of the threats in the 2022 edition of the tournament, but Khachanov was unable to play at the All England Club because organizers Wimbledon banned Russian and Belarusian players from following the Moscow invasion of Ukraine.

However, Wimbledon has lifted sanctions against Russian and Belarusian players, although they are allowed to compete under a neutral flag.

Khachanov, who is tall in the last two semifinals of the Grand Slam, also troubled Djokovic at Roland Garros when he stole a set from the Serbian despite losing in the quarter-finals before breaking into world number ten for the first time since 2019.
