Anthony Ginting's Readiness To Face His First Semifinals At The Indonesia Open

JAKARTA - Anthony Sinisuka Ginting is the only remaining host representative in the men's singles sector of the Indonesia Open 2023. In the semifinals, Saturday, June 17, Ginting will face athlete from China, Li Shi Feng.

This is Ginting's first semifinal match at the Indonesia Open. Even so, Ginting did not want to think too far. He just wants to maintain his focus and body condition so that he can compete optimally.

"Obviously, I am grateful that my first achievement at the Indonesia Open has qualified for the semifinals. I don't want to think too long, tomorrow there will be a match, I will prepare it well," said Ginting.

The badminton player from Cimahi, West Java, said that a good recovery would help him undergo the match to the fullest.

"For the match later, I don't want to think anywhere, I'm more focused on myself because today the game is quite tight. After this focus on recovering to muscles, physical, body, and better prepared for tomorrow," Ginting said, as quoted by Antara.

Before confirming his steps to the last four of the Indonesia Open, Ginting had to beat compatriot Jonatan Christie first. In the "brotherly war" match, Ginting won two straight games 21-19, 21-16.

Their competition was tight, even Ginting was left behind before making a surprise by taking points in critical situations.

Both Jonatan and Ginting already know each other's strengths and weaknesses because they often train together at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center.

So the way out to win the match is by arguing about physical strategy and resilience. The two points that Ginting successfully executed on the field to beat Jonathan.

When he was two or three points behind, Ginting maintained his playing pattern and did not want to rush to kill his opponent. He only waited when Jonathan was careless and instead found the ball dead on his own.

"He's good at helping out training together too. There are also lucky factors, especially at the final critical point I'm bolder and reckless. That's what earned me a few points," Ginting concluded.
