Malaysia Masters 2023: Preparedness That Is Mature To Bring Dejan/Gloria To The Second Round

JAKARTA - The Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja pair successfully defeated Taiwanese mixed doubles, Ye Hong Wei/Lee Chia Hsin, to the second round of the Malaysia Masters 2023.

Dejan/Gloria extended their steps after winning two straight games 21-17 and 21-11 at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at noon WIB.

This victory beautifies Dejan/Gloria's encounter record against Ye/Lee to 2-0. Dejan/Gloria previously defeated the pair in their inaugural meeting at the Denmark Masters last year.

"Previously we had met them and there were notes that had been prepared before. So, we were better prepared earlier," said Dejan in an official statement received, Wednesday, May 24.

In addition to the above couple, other Indonesian mixed fans Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati also helped secure the ticket to the second half. The pair qualified after repatriating Danish representatives, Mikkel Mikkelsen/Rikke Soby.

Rehan/Lisa will then face Supak Jomkoh/Supissara Paewsampran. The pair from Thailand qualified for the second round after stopping the Malaysian representative, Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing.

Tickets for the second half were also secured by the men's singles Christian Adinata. Christian extended his journey after forcing Thailand's singles Kantaphon Wangcharoen in two straight games, 21-16 and 21-17.

"Certainly happy with today's performance. Last night I had an evaluation with the coach and watched the video of the opponent what his game was like. On the field I managed to implement the strategy," said Christian.

Unfortunately, the success of the three representatives above could not be followed by the couple Zakelyardino Sumanti/Hediana Julimarbela who had to go home early after giving up two straight games from Adam Hall/Julie Macpherson.
