JAKARTA - Portuguese racer Miguel Oliveira will miss the French Grand Prix next week after suffering a shoulder injury following an accident at the Spanish GP in Jerez, the Aprilia RNF team said on Thursday.

Oliveira (28) had a left shoulder bone dislocation following a collision with Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo on the first lap on Jerez last weekend.

Although Oliveira's shoulder bone has been handled by a team of doctors, further examinations have seen more serious injuries, including cracks in the bones of humerus and anterior ligament labrum injuries.

"Although Oliveira and her doctor decided not to undergo surgery, she will have to focus on the recovery process and not be able to participate in the race series in France," the RNF team reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 4.

Oliveira is likely to be able to enter the race again in the Italian GP series, 11 June.

Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori will replace Oliveira's role in Le Mans.

The accident is not the first time Oliveira has experienced this season.

He suffered a serious injury following a collision with Honda racer Marc Marquez in the opening race of the Portuguese MotoGP to miss the next race in Argentina.
