The Remaining Disappointment After Inter Milan Beat Porto At Giuseppe Meazza

JAKARTA- Inter Milan won a narrow 1-0 win over their guest FC Porto in the first leg of the last 16 of the 2022/2023 Champions League, Thursday, February 23, early morning WIB. The only goal in the match which took place at the Giuseppe Meazza was born from the actions of Romelu Lukaku.

This victory became the capital for Inter to face the second leg which will be held at the Porto headquarters. The match will take place on March 14.

I Nerazzurri only need a draw to break the Italian club's curse every time they meet FC Porto in the Champions League. However, clearly, this 1-0 victory is not a guarantee.

Inter coach, Simone Inzaghi, is aware of that. He felt no remorse after the match at home ended in a 1-0 win.

"There is regret that we failed to convert several chances in the first half," Inzaghi told Amazon Prime Italia, reported by Football Italia.

"We wanted to do something more, but it was a great performance. We should have moved the ball quicker and built attacks from the bottom," he continued.

Meanwhile, Porto coach, Sergio Conceicao, saw this as a fair result. He said that the red card that Otavio received had changed everything.

He also considered that there were Inter players who should also receive the same punishment. "I believe Lautaro Martinez should be booked for fouling Pepe and if it happens, he will be suspended for the second leg," said the former SS Lazio player.

Even though he lost, Conceicao still felt sure there was still a chance. "It's only the first leg," he said.
