Watch Out Liverpool! Real Madrid Bring 'Deadly Weapon' To Anfield

JAKARTA - Real Madrid will face Liverpool in the last 16 of the 2022/2023 Champions League. Los Blancos will visit Anfield Stadium in the first leg on February 22, early morning WIB.

Real Madrid has released the names of the players brought to Merseyside. Toni Kroos and Aurlien Tchouameni are missing from their trip to Liverpool.

However, Karim Benzema has returned to the Los Blancos squad. Benzema was previously absent when Carlo Ancelotti's team won over Osasuna last weekend due to injury.

But the 35-year-old, who has scored 14 goals this season, was back in training ahead of the first leg. He was then included in the group of players that Ancelotti brought along.

Unfortunately, Kroos or Tchouameni are still struggling with injuries. It was confirmed that both of them could not be brought to the Reds headquarters on Monday, February 20.

Ancelotti hopes Kroos and Tchouameni return to fitness in time to face city rivals Atletico Madrid next Saturday in La Liga. If not, both are expected to appear in the Copa del Rey in the El Classico match against Barcelona following on March 2.

Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0 in the Champions League final last season. Vinicius Junior scored the only goal as Thibaut Courtois put in a fine display to help Madrid claim a 14th European crown.

If you manage to get good results in the first leg, Real Madrid clearly has a big advantage. The reason is, the second leg of the last 16 will take place at the Santiago Bernabeu on March 15.
