Menpora Becomes A Candidate For PSSI Deputy Chairman, The Phenomenon Of Ministers With Multiple Positions That Is Considered Normal

JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Muhadjir Effendy, has no problem with Zainudin Amali's move to register as a candidate for PSSI deputy chairman (Waketum) 2023-2027.

According to him, the move by the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) was not unusual. He said ministers are used to having additional work.

"All ministers have dual positions," said Muhadjir at the State Palace, Jakarta, as quoted from Antara, Wednesday, January 25.

"It is Mr. Menpora's right to run. I think if he was ready he would have been calculated carefully," he continued.

Muhadjir admitted that he did not have the authority to support Zainudin Amali to become PSSI Deputy Chairman. According to him, it is the right of the voters.

Previously, the Menpora admitted that he had asked President Joko Widodo for permission to run in the PSSI core management contest for the 2023-2027 period.

He emphasized that he would not dare to take any steps if he did not receive President Jokowi's approval. "When registering, I asked the President's permission," he said while in Gorontalo.

The election process for the Chairman, Deputy Chairman, and members of the PSSI Executive Committee will be carried out at the Extraordinary Congress, on February 16.

The candidates who pass the administrative selection will compete to get votes from 87 vote owners. The details are 34 Provincial Associations (Asprov), 18 League 1 clubs, 16 League 2 teams, 16 League 3 teams, and three other associations, namely futsal, women's soccer, and soccer coaches.
