JAKARTA - Chelsea made a breakthrough in the mid-season transfer market by bringing in a talented young player, Joao Felix. He was brought in from Atletico Madrid on loan.

The player immediately made his debut with Chelsea on Friday, January 13 in the morning WIB. He played from the start when Chelsea lost 1-2 to Fulham in the English Premier League.

Not as expected, this inaugural match ended in disaster for the Portuguese star. Felix only played for 58 minutes.

He had to leave the field faster because he got a red card. Felix committed a serious violation of Kenny Tete so he was immediately rewarded with a red card.

This means that Felix will miss Chelsea's next three matches. The high price that the Blues had to pay to borrow him seemed like it would end up not as expected.

However, support came from the manager, Graham Potter. He believed that Felix had no malicious intent behind the horror tackle.

"There was no malice in it but I understand why it was a red card," Potter told BT Sport.
