Determination of Jeka Saragih's fate towards UFC will be held on February 5 in Las Vegas

JAKARTA - Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter from Indonesia, Jeka Saragih, will play in the Road to UFC final against Indian challenger Anshul Jubi early next month.

The duel was held at UFC Apex, Las Vegas, United States of America, Saturday, February 4 local time, or Sunday, February 5, Indonesian time. This duel took place in the prelims of UFC FIGHT NIGHT: LEWIS VS SPIVAC.

"UFC today announced the finals of the inaugural Road to UFC tournament which will be broadcast live from UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday, February 4", the mixed martial arts promotion's official statement read.

Road to UFC was held to scout mixed martial arts fighters from Asia. The winner of each class will later be offered a UFC contract.

A total of 32 athletes compete in four classes: flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, and lightweight. Jeka and Jubi will later duel at lightweight on the UFC Vegas 68 scratch card.

Meanwhile, three tickets for contracts from the UFC will be won by Seung Guk Choi vs. Park Hyun-Sung (flyweight), Toshiomi Kazama vs. Rinya Nakamura (bantamweight), and Yi Zha vs. Jung-Young Lee (featherweight).

"These eight finalists will have the opportunity to earn multi-fight contracts, and represent their home countries in the UFC", said Kevin Chang, UFC Senior Vice President and Head of Asia.

If he succeeds in defeating his opponent from India, Jeka will be on the same level as UFC stars such as Conor McGregor and Islam Makhachev. Apart from that, he will also make history by becoming the first fighter from Indonesia to compete in the UFC.

Since the first round Jeka appeared so promising. He started his journey with turning shots to defeat Pawan Maan in the first round of Road to UFC which was held on the sidelines of UFC 275 in Singapore last June.

In the semifinals that took place after the UFC 280 event in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Jeka again showed his skills. The fighter from South Korea, Ki Won-bin, was knocked out in the first round.
