JAKARTA - WNBA star Brittney Griner has been reunited with her family since being released from a Russian prison following a media cannabis case.
Griner arrived at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio last Friday and now lives with his same-sex partner, Cherelle, in a residential neighborhood located at a military facility in Texas.
According to CNN, Lindsay Kagawa Colas, the agent for the Olympic medalist and basketball superstar, decorated the venue with a Christmas tree.
In an interview with the network, Colas said Griner was "excited, grateful, and hopeful" after he returned to the United States.
Enjoying the simple things in life after spending nearly 10 months in a Russian prison, the WNBA star enjoys Dr. Pepper soda, one of her favorite drinks, from the airplane hangar.
He also received visits from several family members, who treated him to barbecues flown in from San Antonio.
Colas also said Griner had been eating a much more nutritious diet, as well as taking supplements, to recover from his time spent in detention.
