The 2022 World Cup Ends Quickly For Cameroon Goalkeeper Andre Onana, The Causes Make You Shake Your Head

JAKARTA - Cameroon faced Serbia in the second match of the 2022 World Cup group stage in Qatar, Monday, November 28. The Cameroon goalkeeper position was no longer filled by Inter Milan's Andre Onana.

Cameroon's goal was guarded by Devis Epassy in the match which ended 3-3. In fact, Onana's name was not included in the list of reserve players.

What's wrong? Apparently, the 2022 World Cup ended faster for Onana. Not because the player was injured, but as a result of a dispute with the coach, Rigobert Song.

Based on European media reports, including The Sun and Goal, Onana was sanctioned for disciplinary reasons. It was reported that Onana was at odds with Song about the goalkeeper's playing style.

The Daily Mail reported that Song wanted Onana to change his playing style. However, the player refused to engage in an argument with the coach.

This news also emerged after journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted on his Twitter account. He said Song wanted to play more "traditionally".

"Andre Onana has been left out of the Cameroon squad," Romano said.

Onana himself played quite well in the first match when Cameroon lost 0-1 to Switzerland in the first match. However, Song seems to have a different assessment.
