Indonesian MMA Champion Eko Roni Has 6 Consecutive Wins Record At ONE Championship, Thailand Fighter: He Doesn't Deserve It

JAKARTA - MMA fighter from Indonesia, Eko Roni Saputra will face Thailand's Yodkaikaew Fairtex at ONE Championship event titled ONE 162 at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Friday, 21 October.

A few days before the match, Fairtex underestimated his opponent. He said that Eko Roni was not worthy to challenge the top five fighters in the flyweight division.

"I don't think he is worthy. There are a lot of tough opponents in this division. He needs to prove himself first," he said in an official statement quoted via Antara.

In fact, Eko Roni has a classy record. The fighter from Samarinda has already collected six consecutive wins in ONE Championsip.

However, Fairtex still considers the Indonesian champion to be at a low level.

"It's true that he has a record of six wins in a row. He was quite good in both the lower and upper battle areas, but his previous opponents weren't high-level fighters. I think I'm above any opponent he's ever faced," boasted the 31-year-old fighter.

Fairtex actually boasted that it would end Eko Roni's winning streak. Unmitigated, he also intends to knock out the opponent.

"If there was a chance to knock him out, of course, I wouldn't miss it. I have prepared kicks and punches. I will use my striking ability to dominate it,” Yodkaikaew emphasized.

However, Yodkaikaew does not underestimate Eko Roni Saputra, who is currently training at Evolve MMA Singapore with the world champions of Muay Thai and kickboxing who has a frightening combination of attacks.
